• Thomas L. Friedman: Chúng ta đang ở trong một kỷ nguyên "Polycene", mọi thứ đều kết nối. We’re In a New Everything-Is-Connected Epoch. But What to Call It? (New York Times, 10.11.2025). "Thomas L. Friedman argues that we're no longer in a world of neat binaries—good vs. evil, us vs. them, or even left vs. right—but in an "everything-is-connected" epoch where climate chaos, AI breakthroughs, geopolitical realignments, and economic webs amplify each other into polycrises. These forces demand we think in multiples, not opposites, and govern at a planetary scale to avoid collective collapse… Triedman coins "Polycene"—a term borrowed from tech visionary Craig Mundie, blending "poly" (Greek for "many") with echoes of geological epochs like the Anthropocene. It's an era where smartphones and connectivity give every person and machine a voice, accelerating impacts at warp speed. As Mundie puts it (via Friedman): "We are shifting the boundary of cognition... from what humans can imagine and program to what computers can discover, imagine and design on their own." The Polycene isn't just descriptive; it's a call to action: ditch zero-sum binaries for "both/and" solutions—like secure borders with open gates for talent, or free trade with fair reciprocity. Friedman warns that interdependence "is no longer our choice... It is our condition. We will either build healthy interdependencies and rise together or suffer through unhealthy interdependencies and fall together." Traditional politics is fracturing; the future belongs to dynamic coalitions of diverse players tackling complexity head-on.
